About
If you find yourself in La Veta, Colorado, you must take a detour to Stiano. Nestled at 103 W Ryus Ave, this enchanting eatery combines stunning culinary artistry with a unique atmosphere, making it a hidden gem in the heart of a charming town.
Stiano stands out not just for its delectable offerings but also for the experience it provides. Patrons have raved about the ambiance, particularly the “grotto” seating area, which is occasionally accompanied by live music that elevates the dining experience. For instance, customer Gwynneth Bauer was swept away by the harmonious tunes performed while enjoying mouthwatering dishes like ribeye and mussels, with the latter surprising even those who typically shy away from seafood.
What sets Stiano apart is its exquisite menu that blends traditional Italian flavors with modern twists. The calamari is a crowd favorite, perfectly complemented by standout dishes such as chicken parmesan and cacio e pepe, as noted by Serena Neuman's delightful meal shared after a day at the nearby Sand Dunes. Each dish showcases fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation, resulting in flavors that linger long after the last bite. And don’t forget to leave room for dessert—the tiramisu, adored by patrons like Serena, is a delightful finish to any meal.
Another highlight of Stiano is its stellar service, personified by the charismatic server Jillian. Guests frequently note her delightful interactions and attentive service, which contribute to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Chris Turner described his experience as “hands down, the best restaurant in the state,” a testament to both the food and the service that seem to create a seamless dining experience.
In addition to their remarkable service and mouthwatering dishes, Stiano also embraces local ingredients. Paulette Saffle praised the creative appetizer featuring locally grown yellow watermelon, burrata, arugula, and warm honey, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality and locality. This dedication to fresh, local produce not only enhances the flavors but also connects diners to the region’s rich agricultural offerings.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Stiano is more than just a meal; it's an experience that is sure to impress. Each review reflects a consistent theme: exquisite food, attentive service, and a relaxing atmosphere. Don't miss your chance to indulge in this culinary paradise when you visit La Veta. You won't regret it.
“ We sat in the grotto while Michael and Dianne performed fantastic music including requests. Jillian was an amazing server, so fun and very helpful. Travel made fantastic drinks at the bar - the La Veta Verde. The food was amazing! The myself are a MUST! I'm not a mussel eater myself, but I tried one and the seasoning was delicious! We both had the ribeye and it was delicious too! I highly recommend visiting here if you're in town or even make a side trip - it's worth it! ”
“ Highly recommend Stiano. Delicious food and friendly staff. This was just the relaxing dinner we needed after a long day at the Sand Dunes. We shared the calamari and mussels to start, chicken parmesan and cacio e pepe for our entrees and tiramisu for dessert. All so yummy! Thank you Jillian for the friendly conversation and letting us call dibs on your last piece of tiramisu. Will definitely be back when we are on this side of the State again. ”
“ This is, hands down, the best restaurant in the state!!! The ribeye was the best I have ever had, and our girls loved the pasta!!! Jillian was friendly, knowledgeable, and an overall incredible server and we cannot wait to go back!!! 10/10!!! ”
“ After moving to Huerfano County this was the first local restaurant I took my houseguests, my sister and her husband. She had studied Italian in Italy and had made many trips back. She approved. Such a great restaurant in a lovely little town. You will be amazed it exists, here. I had the Walnut Pesto and tiramisu, we shared a charcuterie board. It was all awesome. Highly recommended ”
“ This is a gem in La Veta, CO. Jillian, our server, was fabulous. The meal was memorable. This is not your typical Italian restaurant. We had the special appetizer of burrata, yellow watermelon locally grown, arugula, peppadew and warm honey. Delicious Then risotto and chicken parm with two sauces. So good. Be sure to dine here if you're in the area. Thank you again, Jillian, for making it extra enjoyable. ”
“ This is one of those places you must go to. As soon as you walk in the door your mouth will start to water just from the smell. The food was impeccable, service was outstanding. If you are driving by, I highly suggest you make the time to tickle your taste buds. ”
“ My wife and I had hoped to eat here together... we had heard good reports about them being Celiac friendly, which is a requirement for my wife. It turns out that they are great for gluten-free dining but cannot guarantee zero cross-contamination, which is an issue for many Celiac sufferers. I opted to order take-away for myself and I am so glad I did. The food was excellent! Everyone was so friendly while we waited and even brought out the bottle of wine I had ordered and poured a glass for me to enjoy until my food was ready. Definitely pay these folks a visit if you are in the area. ”
“ Ok..... what a surprise! Small town with Michelin level food. Insanely good service and great prices. The staff were really really good at what they do and reminded us of what service used to be like..... thank you!!!! We are going to be regulars driving down from Denver!!!! ”
